Millboard Coppered Oak was the decking of choice for the multi-kilometre boardwalk for the Townsville City Council. The boardwalk runs from Victoria Bridge along the waterfront to Lowths Bridge, leading to the new Stadium.
This multi-million dollar boardwalk provides a vital link between the central business district, Palmer Street and Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Millboard was chosen for the Townsville boardwalk project due to its high anti slip rating (P5), durability and low maintenance. The boards provided the Townsville City Council with a long term commercial grade solution that is also environmentally friendly. The decking boards are made from up to 40% reclaimed minerals, but they don't contain any timber so unlike wood plastic composites, Millboard keeps the forests where they should be.
